Workout Tip
by Reggie DeFeo CPT | Manasquan Club
Physical activity along with proper diet may be one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself at any age. Having an exercise program is so important in developing your fitness goals. It is also important however, that your program is progressive and ever changing.
For example, there are many people that will only participate in group exercise classes. Others may do the same cardio work out every day. The problem is that your body quickly adapts to these activities, thereby reducing the effectiveness and benefits of the exercise.
If you are only using a treadmill for cardio, try the elliptical, rowing machine , stationary bike or the stair stepper. If you are only doing classes, try getting into the fitness room for strength training. There are so many options for all different levels and Personal Trainers are always available for assistance.
So try mixing it up! You will be amazed how the challenge of something new and different will be both motivating and offer significant results.
And don’t forget to stretch.
