Vitamin C, Who Knew?
Who knew that vitamin C is for more than fighting off a cold?
Vitamin C can be found in fresh fruit and vegetables; oranges, strawberries, lemons, papaya, pineapple, tomato, cabbage, spinach, broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower and green peppers to name a few.
Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are helpful in tissue growth and repair, along with metabolic functions, adrenal gland functions and healthy gums. It also helps in depositing calcium and phosphate in bones. Vitamins and antioxidants also helps in the synthesis of collagen, which acts as connective tissue between the bones.
Are you stressed out? If you have a deficiency of vitamin C you might slow down the production of the antistress hormone. Vitamin C also decreases the symptoms of asthma, helps to prevent cancer, and protect against infection and increases immunity.
